Combat

Every weapon belongs to a skill, and every armour weight brings its own abilities.

Landing a hit

Your chance to hit compares your weapon skill with the defender’s skill. Equal skills hit 75% of the time. The chance never goes below 10% or above 95%, and hit and defence bonuses from gear are each capped at 45%.

Damage

A hit deals the weapon’s damage, scaled by your weapon skill and raised by Tactics and Strength:

ValueWeapon skill: damageTactics bonusStrength bonus
050%+6.25%+0%
2563%+21.88%+8%
5075%+37.5%+15%
7588%+53.13%+23%
100100%+68.75%+30%

Bonuses add together and are capped at 300%; damage increase from gear adds up to 100% more. With weapon skill, Tactics and Strength all at 100, a hit does ×1.99 the weapon’s damage.

Swing speed

  • Each weapon has its own swing time. Swing speed bonuses are capped at 40%, and no swing is faster than 0.6 s.
  • A tired arm is a slow arm: at empty stamina you swing up to 25% slower.
  • Below a weapon’s Strength requirement you swing 1% slower for every missing point, up to 50%.

Base numbers at T1; the next section shows how tiers raise them. Fists are what you fight with when your hands are empty.

Weapon tiers

Each tier multiplies a weapon’s damage by another 8%. Each tier also asks for 12.5 more skill. You can use a weapon up to 20 points under that, but it loses 1.5% of its damage for every missing point.
